Golf Club of Amelia Island

Exhilarating play for all levels of golfers combined with amazing year-round weather and gentle breezes off the Atlantic capture the experience at The Golf Club of Amelia Island, one of the best-renowned golf clubs in the Fernandina Beach area.

Designed by PGA Tour veteran Mark McCumber and legendary golfer Gene Littler in 1987, this award-winning 18-hole, par 72 golf course has been recognized worldwide as one of the Top Golf Resorts by Condé Nast Traveler and as one of the Best Places to Play by Golf Digest.

Lush and meticulously manicured, challenging but never frustrating, the championship course’s diverse layout with stands of moss-draped century oaks guarding the front nine and rolling marshes and more water on the back nine reward patience and good decision-making.

The Spa at the Ritz-Carlton

At the reimagined Spa and Wellness Center at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, the resort’s oceanfront setting in Florida provides both the view and the inspiration. Experience programs and treatments for optimum wellness and rejuvenation.

Backwater Fishing

Truly one of the best fishing opportunities at Amelia Island, comes from the numerous saltwater estuaries, flats and inlets, all offering a wide variety of light-tackle fishing opportunities.

Without a doubt, some of Amelia Island's largest game fish are landed from its two large inlets, the St. Mary's and the Nassau. And for those fishermen that enjoy catching game fish that sometimes weigh over the 200-pound mark and with fairly light fishing tackle, Amelia Island "Big Game" fishing is hard to beat!

The protected waters here are also predictably calm for those fishermen that have a problem with motion sickness. Another big bonus is the short boat ride to the fishing grounds, which is often less than 15-minutes! In fact some of the more productive fishing waters are located right in front of Amelia Island Plantation.

Bike Tour

Pedal your way under Amelia Island’s canopy oak paths by Victorian-era homes, stepping back in time to a place once forgotten on an Amelia Island Bike Tour. Starting at Fort Clinch State Park and then proceeding to the 50-block historic district of Downtown Fernandina Beach, you will uncover the truths and mysteries of the Isle of Eight Flags that date back to the 1500s.

Private River Cruise

With spectacular views of wildlife and fascinating stories about the area, guides will enrich your coastal experience with intrigue and wonder. Come aboard the Amelia River Cruise in downtown Fernandina where you will pass by a multitude of shrimp boats, the charming ‘Old Towne’ and Fort Clinch State Park before making your way to see the wild horses of Cumberland Island. You may even see dolphins and manatees swimming alongside you or spoonbills and osprey soaring above.

After the tour, guests may choose to travel to Fort Clinch for a historical tour, or stay in downtown Fernandina Beach for some local shopping and dining experiences.
